If you're like most online business owners, you're always looking for new and innovative ways to create passive income. Well, Pinterest may be just the platform you've been searching for. With its huge user base and engaged community, Pinterest can help you drive traffic to your website and generate revenue through affiliate marketing programs. So how do you get started? In this post, we'll walk you through the basics of using Pinterest to create passive income. We'll show you how to set up a board, add pins, use keywords and other search tools, and track your results. So let's get started!
What do you already have in your home that you are using that could be an affiliate link for you?
Here's an example of some of mine to give you an idea!
Although not one to give me financial gain, many subscription services give you the option to receive your next order free through a referral code. many have no upper limit on this! Never want to pay for washing or dishwasher tablets again? Start referring SMOL. http://smol.refr.cc/victoriaba...
Canva is a tool that I use and recommend all the time, so it only makes sense that I make some money from an affiliate link! It's a company and tool that I genuinely rave about, so it makes promoting it super easy! https://partner.canva.com/15dRKR
What links can you immediately think of that could work for you?
Think about how you are going to use your boards to categorise your affiliate links.
Are you just promoting one link within one industry? If so, how can you split that industry into 5 different points of interest and make boards around each one?
Perhaps you are going to be really clear about your desire to share several different affiliate links. In this case you would make a board for each different topic.
Make sure that people who come to your profile understand what it is you are doing and promoting. Transparency and clarity always win!
There are so many pins on Pinterest so we need to create images that stand out. The best way to do this is with a high quality image and text overlay that immediately grabs the attention of the reader.
What problem does your product solve for the reader? For example, 'Struggling to grow on Instagram? Here's 3 apps that will skyrocket your following.'
Can you capture their attention by implying you have information that they need? For example, 'The top 5 subscription boxes that you NEED in 2022.'
Or can you make them so curious that they have to click? For example, 'Success secrets that 7 figure income earners don't tell you.'
Pair a title like this with a great image and you're on to a winner!
Keywords (also known as “SEO keywords," “key phrases,” or “search topics”) are words and phrases that users type into search engines to find information on a particular topic.
As a search engine, Pinterest curates their “feed” based on what a user is searching for and how those key terms are used in the Pins being shared by content creators.
Use the search bar to search for words relevant to your business and see what other words/searches Pinterest suggests. This gives a pretty good indicator as to what searches are already being conducted and what words in your category are popular.
So if you are promoting an affiliate link for washing powder, then you need to start thinking about what words your ideal customer is going to be typing into Google and Pinterest.
It's worth thinking outside of the box with keywords, it's very easy to think of the obvious ones, but can you think of more niche phrases that your customer might type in?
Make a list of keywords for each individual link/topic and place them within your board description, title and the pin itself. This will help your pin to show up in as many searches as possible.
Keep in mind that Pinterest can take a little longer for you to see results compared to other Google and Facebook. But I promise you, that once the results come in, you'll be searching for affiliate links EVERYWHERE!
